James Coombe immigrated to Australia in 1853 on board the "Plantagenet" following the gold rush. He was married to Emily Rendell in his gold miner's tent at Cathcart Victoria by the Rev. Phillip Honon. She had arrived in Australia with her family in 1856 on board the "Ultonia." Her father had immigrated the year before (1855), following the gold rush, on board the "George Marshall"

On 3rd December, 1868 Charles Edwards II from Woodspoint found a gold nugget weighing 64 ounces at Godfreys. He lodged it at the Commercial Bank. A few days later it was smelted down and produced 59 ounces of gold. The local paper criticised the bank for smelting it instead of preserving it, as it was the largest nugget found in the district. At the end of the month, 29th December 1868 Charles married Catherine. Sophia Barnes

Thomas Johnson was a convict who arrived in the colony of New South Wales in January 1820 on the "Prince Regent,, having "feloniously and burglariously broke and entered the dwelling house of the said John Hadley and stealing thereout, one pair of shoes, 2 pair of stockings, 3 bushels of apples, one shawl, 2 loaves of bread and twenty shillings (copper and half-pence)." He received a Conditional Pardon on 10 July 1834 and an Absolute Pardon on 16 December 1843.

Sarah Trueman was tried in Salop and "charged upon the oath of John Thomas with feloniously stealing one piece of diaper cloth from out of his shop in the town of Oswestry of the value of 37 shillings" and sentenced to 7 years transportation. She arrived in Sydney on board the "Morley" on 13/09/1820 and entered the Female Factory in Parramatta on the 19/09/1820 with a 6 (??) year old child - Mary Ann. She married John Holt in 1822 and received her Certificate of Freedom on the 18/01/1827. They had two children Eliza (1829) and William (1831)
